A person applying for an instrument rating must:<\/span><\/p><ol><li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Possess at least a current private pilot license with an appropriate aircraft or helicopter rating for the instrument rating sought.<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Comply with the provisions of subsection 61.60.<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Receive and record ground training from an authorized aeronautical training instructor, in knowledge in the areas of paragraph (b) of this subsection that apply to the instrument rating sought.<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Receive an endorsement in the pilot's logbook or training record by an authorized instructor certifying that the person is prepared to take the required knowledge test.<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Receive and record training in areas of operation in paragraph (c) of this subsection from an authorized instructor in an aircraft or flight simulation training device representing an airplane or helicopter, appropriate for the instrument rating sought.<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Receive an endorsement in a pilot logbook or training record from an authorized instructor certifying that the individual is prepared to take the required practical test.<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Aprobar el examen de conocimiento requerido en las \u00e1reas de conocimiento aeron\u00e1utico del p\u00e1rrafo (b) de esta subsecci\u00f3n; sin embargo, no es requerido que el solicitante tome otro examen de conocimiento si esa persona ya tiene una habilitaci\u00f3n en instrumento; y<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Pass the practical test required in the areas of operation in paragraph (c) of this subsection in:<\/span><\/li><\/ol><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I) An airplane, helicopter or vertical takeoff aircraft, appropriate for the rating sought; either<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">II) A flight simulator or an appropriate flight training device for the rating sought and for the specific maneuver or instrument approach procedure to be performed. 400;\">Requirements<\/span><\/h2>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-4d10a08 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"4d10a08\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><b>RAD 61:123 Eligibility requirements: general.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">a) To be eligible for a commercial pilot license or certificate, the person must have reached 18 years of age and;<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">1) Be a Dominican citizen for the purposes of issuing a license; either<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">2) Be a foreign citizen, for the purposes of issuing a certificate.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">b) Comply with the provisions of subsection 61.60.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">c) Receive the endorsement of an authorized instructor in the flight logbook who;<\/span><\/p><ol><li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Conducted the required ground training on the aeronautical knowledge areas listed in subsection 61.125 of this RAD that applies to the aircraft category and rating class sought; and<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Certified that this person is prepared for the required knowledge test, which applies to the aircraft category and rating class sought.<\/span><\/li><\/ol><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">d) Pass the required knowledge test on the aeronautical knowledge areas listed in subsection 61.125 of this RAD;<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">e) Receive the required training and endorsement in a flight logbook from an authorized instructor who:<\/span><\/p><ol><li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Conducted training on the areas of operation listed in subsection 61.127 (b) of this RAD that apply to the aircraft category and class rating sought; and<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Certificate that the person is prepared for the required practice test.<\/span><\/li><\/ol><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">f) Meet the aeronautical experience requirements of this subsection that apply to the aircraft category and class rating sought before requesting the practical test;<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">g) Pass the required practical test on the areas of operation listed in subsection 61.127 (b) that apply to the aircraft category and rating sought;<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">h) Comply with the subsections of this RAD that apply to the aircraft category and rating sought.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-inner-section elementor-element elementor-element-b06b318 elementor-section-boxed
