Private pilot
Private Pilot License is one that allows you to fly an aircraft without receiving remuneration for private or recreational use.
Requirements
RAD 61.83 Eligibility requirements: Student Pilot. To obtain a student pilot license and a medical certificate of at least Class II, a person must:
a) Be at least 17 years old. If you are a minor, you must present legal authorization from your parents.

Instrument Enabling

Requirements
RAD 61:65 Requirements for instrument rating.
a) Overall. A person applying for an instrument rating must:
- Possess at least a current private pilot license with an appropriate aircraft or helicopter rating for the instrument rating sought.
- Comply with the provisions of subsection 61.60.
- Receive and record ground training from an authorized aeronautical training instructor, in knowledge in the areas of paragraph (b) of this subsection that apply to the instrument rating sought.
- Receive an endorsement in the pilot's logbook or training record by an authorized instructor certifying that the person is prepared to take the required knowledge test.
- Receive and record training in areas of operation in paragraph (c) of this subsection from an authorized instructor in an aircraft or flight simulation training device representing an airplane or helicopter, appropriate for the instrument rating sought.
- Receive an endorsement in a pilot logbook or training record from an authorized instructor certifying that the individual is prepared to take the required practical test.

Commercial pilot
A commercial pilot is a person in charge of fulfilling the charge of piloting and managing everything that concerns the transfer of passengers or merchandise from one place to another through the handling of an aircraft.
Requirements
RAD 61:123 Eligibility requirements: general.
a) To be eligible for a commercial pilot license or certificate, the person must have reached 18 years of age and;
1) Be a Dominican citizen for the purposes of issuing a license; either
2) Be a foreign citizen, for the purposes of issuing a certificate.
b) Comply with the provisions of subsection 61.60.
c) Receive the endorsement of an authorized instructor in the flight logbook who;
- Conducted the required ground training on the aeronautical knowledge areas listed in subsection 61.125 of this RAD that applies to the aircraft category and rating class sought; and
- Certified that this person is prepared for the required knowledge test, which applies to the aircraft category and rating class sought.
d) Pass the required knowledge test on the aeronautical knowledge areas listed in subsection 61.125 of this RAD;
e) Receive the required training and endorsement in a flight logbook from an authorized instructor who:
- Conducted training on the areas of operation listed in subsection 61.127 (b) of this RAD that apply to the aircraft category and class rating sought; and
- Certificate that the person is prepared for the required practice test.
f) Meet the aeronautical experience requirements of this subsection that apply to the aircraft category and class rating sought before requesting the practical test;
g) Pass the required practical test on the areas of operation listed in subsection 61.127 (b) that apply to the aircraft category and rating sought;
h) Comply with the subsections of this RAD that apply to the aircraft category and rating sought.
